Poor Aaron Spelling

Normally I'm a huge fan of 7th Heaven and have watched the Camden Family and their wholesome television show for years. Last year the show ended. Somehow it was brought back on the new CW network. Poor Aaron Spelling is twisting in his grave tonight over how horrid this show has become. No, it's not the acting. I have a theory on that for another day (I think they actually train them to act in the "7th heaven" way). The new writers have turned the show into a political soapbox. I'm usually the first one to get behind a good cause, but they said "Darfur" atleast 784 times tonight. If anyone doesn't know about Darfur, then just watch 7th Heaven...they''ll give you a lesson! I hope I don't sound cruel and disconnected from the situation. I read. I research and volunteer. I care. BUT on Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. all I want to do is watch 7th Heaven! I want Lucy to do something wacky and Ruthie to save Campbell's soup labels for her school while shamelessly plugging the product. I want Rev. Camden to bring strange kids home for dinner and let them join the family. I want Happy, the dog, to not appear to have aged for ten years. That's it. When I want politics I'll watch Steven Colbert or Jon Stewart like the rest of the world. Ugh! I can only hope that next week they'll tackle the "pantyless hollywood" epidemic or why anyone cares about celebrities at all.
