Mummy Exhibit

Yesterday we went with some of our homeschool friends over to Mobile to see the Mummy Exhibit athte Exploreum. The Exploreum was loaded with hands on science exhibits, water exhibits and even an area for 5 year olds and under to play. Braeden adn I learned a lot and had a nnice day together. This picture was taken in one of the hands on rooms.

painting eggs!

We had a blast painting eggs Friday night. Graham and Cassie came over and later that evening John and Tonya stopped by. I taped newspaper to the bar and Ava's table and just let them make huge messes. Our poor apartment kitchen is so small we branched out into the living room to color eggs. The kids had fun and that's all that matters.

Picnic with daddy!

Last week we surprised Michael with a picnic in the park for dinner. I thought showing up with Copelands and eating in the park would be a nice treat. The evening was beautiful and the kids had a blast.

For Dad!

I posted a few days ago about a forward email from a girlfriend of mine, and now I need to clear some things up! At the bottom of the post I gave answers only to some of her questions, and my dad's mind wandered into the gutter while reading them. "No", I was not 15, and unable to drive a car, when I lost my virginity and "no" the phrases "less then 10, more then 20" are not related to sex. None of the answers are. It was a dorky email with questions about shoes, colors, music and handbags.

the three year old playing soccer is mine!!!

i found these this weekend...my sweet boy is getting so big!

forward

after reading over this, i apologize for the rambeling!

I'm not a big fan of the fowarded email, but I have a girlfriend who only sends "forwards" and if I ever want info on her family, I have to answer. She sent me one over the weekend asking me basic questions like fave color, fave animal, song, cd, band...etc. After I reminded her we weren't in third grade anymore, I agreed to answer. But who has only one of those? It depends on the mood or even the season as to my favorite song/band/cd. For that matter, so does color, animal, guilty pleasure, everything! Who is consistent enough in life to have one favorite anything? I'm definitely not. If I'm heading out in a good mood, The Gap Band "You Dropped the Bomb on Me" is a fave or Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me", but if I want an emotional flashback Live's "I Alone" can stir up images I associate with only that song or anything off of Dave Matthew's Under the Table and Dreaming.
Cd/Album...are you kidding? Where do I start? I can listen to anything off of R.E.M.'s Green album and be thrown right into the 8th grade hallway at Pace Middle School holding the first cassette tape I ever wore to pieces.
I've decided that Jeannie isn't the only one who deserves the answers to her forward...I'm listing, in no apparent order, some of my all time faves. (I'm listening to most of them as I type)

R.E.M.
pale blue eyes
crush with eyeliner
you are the everything
everybody hurts
ages of you
king of the road
anything with Natalie Merchant

James
laid

Dashboard Confessional
the entire "the places you have come to fear" cd

Jack Johnson (new fave...i want some of what he takes. this guy is sooo mellow.)
upside down

Five For Fighting
James Taylor (duh...who dosen't)
Elton John (same as above!)
Anna Nalik
10,000 maniacs
Live
I really could go on and on for days, but I just want Jeannie to understand you can't ask such vague questions!!!!

I won't EVEN go into colors.

Here are the rest of my answers love bug...Try and figure out where they go! pink/green/plaid/red/blue/orange, first, 15, less then 10, more then 20, sugar-free cough drops, buttery nipple, nose, "breath" until LL did it, maybe, ya, but don't tell!

Warning...364 days early!

I'd like to send this urgent warning out for all who know my son!!!!! Do not attempt an April Fool's Day joke!!!! EVER!! Let me explain... Braeden got up to use the bathroom Saturday night and I remembered it was AFD. It apparently was the devil who whispered this joke in my ear because it has left emotional scaring on my sensitive son. I called him in the living room and said I had a surprise. I told him we were going to have a baby!!! I truly in my heart thought he would be upset. I really expected him to whine and complain, then I could say, "AFD" and all would be fine. NO...not what happened! He was so excited, saying, "he had prayed for a new baby to complete our family!" WHAT????!!!! I quickly told him AFD so he wouldn't get any more excited...and that sent the tear storm. He ran out of the room screaming,"THAT'S THE MEANEST THING YOU'VE EVER DONE TO ME!" and started crying on his bed hysterically.
The joke didn't go as planned. We got him back up, apologized and let him sleep with me.
He has forgiven me...Finally!

Festival on the Green

We took the kids to the Festival on the Green at UWF today. It was a blast! We spent three hours touring the arts, crafts and kids area. They had a small petting zoo and I just had to post this picture of the smallest pot belly pig I've ever seen.
